Zygoma (cheekbone) implant is an implant technique recommended for patients with bone loss in the upper jaw bone that cannot be implanted. Zygoma implant can be applied to patients who do not have enough bone in their upper jaw, who have bone loss at a level that the All on Four technique cannot be applied, and to every healthy individual. With this technique, which is used by making specially made implants that are approximately 4.5 - 5 centimeters long, we can make fixed teeth for our patients and restore their dental health.

What are the Advantages of Zygoma Implant?

As we mentioned above, the biggest advantage of zygoma implant is that it is a treatment method applied to patients who cannot have an implant because they do not have an upper jaw bone. With zygoma implant treatment, there is no need for a long and expensive new bone formation process in such patients with bone loss.

Another advantage of zygoma implant is that it can be safely applied to patients who have had an accident in their upper jaw or whose jaws have been removed as a result of diseases such as cancer.

What Should Be Considered After Zygoma Implant?

A patient who has undergone zygoma implant treatment should pay attention to the same conditions as after normal implant treatments.

First of all, these conditions are;
 

• Regular use of medications and not eating hot foods for the period specified by the doctor.
• Again, patients who have undergone zygoma implant treatment should not prefer hard foods under any circumstances during the temporary prosthesis periods they will use. After the permanent prosthesis is made, they can start consuming food normally.
• Another and one of the most important issues is that in all cases of fracture that may occur in the temporary prostheses made for zygoma implant treatment, patients should go to the dentist immediately. Otherwise, broken prostheses may cause the implant to be lost.
