What is combined type whitening?
It is a teeth whitening method that is applied both in the office and at home. After the application in the office or clinic, the process is supported with home-type whitening for 2-3 days.
How is Combined Teeth Whitening Done?
The whitening process for all teeth is the use of home and clinic-type whitening methods together. In some tooth discolorations, the desired whiteness tone can only be achieved by applying two methods. Laser teeth whitening is the most preferred method in recent years.
In which cases is whitening not performed?
Combined teeth whitening is not performed on teeth with wide pulps, excessively worn erosive teeth, in cases where there is a restoration in the mouth such as porcelain crowns, in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in people who are allergic to hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, and in individuals with poor oral hygiene. Also:
For all teeth, whitening is done by activating the whitening gel with heat or light. First, dental tartar and external discoloration on the tooth surface are cleaned. Then, a protective gel is applied to prevent the whitening gel from touching the gums. The whitening agent is applied to the tooth surfaces and activated for 20-30 minutes. The desired whiteness is usually achieved within 3-4 sessions. After laser teeth whitening, the patient returns to daily life in a short time.

- If there are structural disorders in the teeth concerning the enamel and dentin (amelogenesis imperfecta, dentinogenesis imperfecta)
- In patients with extremely sensitive teeth (whitening can be done after desensitizing treatments are applied.)
- In teeth with advanced tetracycline stains
- In people with broken, cracked, and decayed teeth
- In people whose gums have receded too much and a large part of the roots are exposed, whitening is not done.
